TEMPORARY RESTRICTION ON SALE OF PLATFORM TICKETS AT MAJOR STATIONS OF WESTERN RAILWAY MUMBAI DIVISION TO CONTROL FESTIVE RUSH

In anticipation of a heavy rush during the forthcoming festive season, Western Railway has imposed temporary restrictions on the sale of Platform Tickets at select major stations of Mumbai Division. This step aims to manage crowding on platforms and ensure smooth passenger movement within station premises. The restriction of sale of Platform Ticket is effective immediately until 16th March, 2025

According to a press release issued by Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, Vineet Abhishek, the sale of Platform Tickets has been restricted at the following stations

Mumbai Central

Bandra Terminus

Vapi

Valsad

Udhna

Surat

Vineet informed that certain exemptions are allowed like for those who come to assist senior citizens, elderly, women passengers, etc to ensure their ease of travel.

Passengers are requested to plan accordingly and adhere to the new regulations for a smooth and safe travel experience during the festive period
