7th Inter Media Cricket Tournament Kicks Off in Ajmer

Ajmer ( Rahul Kumar Verma ) The 7th Inter Media Cricket Tournament, organised by Media Club Ajmer, began on Sunday at the Chandravardai Sports Ground. Two matches were played on the opening day.

The tournament was inaugurated by Omprakash Bhadana, Chairman of Rajasthan Devnarayan Board and BJP State General Secretary. He officially opened the event by playing an over on the cricket pitch. Bhadana wished the media fraternity on National Press Day and said that sports provide entertainment as well as help in maintaining good health. He congratulated all journalists for organising the tournament and encouraged them to stay fit through sports activities. He also interacted with journalists and gave commentary for their matches from the stands.

Journalists from leading Hindi and English newspapers, electronic media, digital media, web media, cable news channels and photojournalists are participating in the tournament.

First Match:The first match was played between Patrakaar Panthers, led by Ashok Bhati, and Kings XI Media, led by Manish Singh. Patrakaar Panthers won the toss and chose to bowl first. Kings XI Media were all out for 69 runs in 14.4 overs. Patrakaar Panthers chased the target in the 12th over and won by 7 wickets. Somesh Singh Rathore was awarded Man of the Match for his unbeaten 28 runs. For Kings XI, Abhijeet Dave took 3 wickets for 23 runs in 4 overs.

Second Match: The second match was played between Dabang Patrakaar, captained by Durgesh, and Journalist Royal, captained by Shubham Jain. Journalist Royal won the toss and opted to bat first. They scored 171 runs in 20 overs, with opener Sandeep Dhabai scoring an unbeaten 88 runs. Chasing the target of 172, Dabang Patrakaar won the match by 7 wickets after a competitive game. Abhishek Singh Amera scored 70 runs off 52 balls and was declared Man of the Match.
