Central Railway registers originating passenger and commercial earnings of Rs.14,441 crores for FY 2025-26 (Upto January 2026)

Central Railway has registered robust financial performance for the Financial Year 2025-26 (up to January 2026), highlighting significant revenue through originating passenger and commercial earnings.

FY 2025-26 (Upto January 2026)

During the FY 2025-26 (Upto January 2026), Central Railway has registered originating passenger and commercial earnings of Rs.14,441.23 crores. This includes Passengers earnings of Rs.6,561.38 crores, Goods earnings of Rs.6,741.29 crores, Other Coaching earnings of Rs.640.80 crores and Sundry earnings of Rs.497.76 crores.

Other Coaching earnings include earnings of Rs.108.58 crores through Non‑fare initiatives and Rs. 209.97 crores through Parcel transportation.

During January 2026

During the month of January 2026, Central Railway registered total originating passenger and commercial earnings of Rs.1579.80 crores. This includes Rs.680.30 crores as passenger earnings, Rs.784.07 crores as Goods earnings, Rs.63.90 crores as Other Coaching earnings and Rs.51.53 crores as Sundry earnings.

Other Coaching earnings include earnings of Rs.11.71  crores through Non‑fare initiatives and Rs. 22.03 crores through Parcel transportation.

During the month of January-2026, as part of the Non-fare initiatives, 14 contracts were awarded through e‑auction generating a total Annual License Fee of Rs.244.51 lakh. These include:

Contracts awarded by Mumbai Division for Rs.146.13 lakhs for advertising on the interior & exterior of EMU rakes, Multipurpose stalls & Health Kiosks at stations and advertising through Glow signs & Hoardings at different locations.

Contracts awarded by Bhusaval Division for Rs.84.17 lakhs for advertising on Hoardings, Contracts for Vending inside trains & Waiting room contract at stations.

Contracts awarded by Nagpur Division for Rs.14.21 lakhs for advertising on Hoardings, Contracts for relaxation chairs in waiting rooms and platforms, contract for Radio Taxi / Cab aggregator& other Contracts for operation and maintenance of various Assets.

During the month of January 2026, Central Railway operated 171 timetabled, lease, and indent trains (trips) in 2025?26. Notable services include
