Jammu Division "Samvad" held in the pantry car of Train No. 12919 for waste management

Indian Railways periodically issues guidelines for passenger amenities on trains and stations, focusing on specific topics such as passenger convenience, cleanliness, and safety. Recently, the Railway Board issued special instructions for waste management on trains. Under this, a "Samvad" (dialogue) was to be held in every division of the Railways regarding the collection and disposal of waste from the pantry car. In accordance with this, a special "Samvad" was organized in the Jammu Division today, 30 November, by a commercial team formed under the guidance of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal, regarding the collection and disposal of waste in the pantry car of Train No.12919. Through this "Samvad," pantry car staff were trained to collect waste in sealed bags and dispose of it at designated stations, ensuring cleanliness and hygiene in the pantry car. In this regard, specific instructions were given to pantry car staff, emphasizing the importance of paying attention to certain important points. For example, pantry car staff will collect and place waste in sealed bags. Waste will be disposed of only at designated stations during the journey. Failure to do so or non-compliance with these instructions will result in strict action against pantry car staff.

During this interaction, the commercial team also checked the identity cards and medical certificates of pantry car staff on train number 12919.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal, stated that this "Samvad" could be integrated into a campaign to further enhance effective and systematic sanitation on trains. Furthermore, this campaign focuses on hygienic eating habits, which will also ensure the cleanliness of the pantry car and base kitchens.
