Railway Officials at Rampurhat Station Assist Woman in Labour, Ensure Safe Delivery Under Operation Matrishakti

In a remarkable display of prompt action and compassion for passenger welfare, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and on-duty railway staff at Rampurhat station sprang into action to assist a woman in distress, ensuring the safe birth of her child under Eastern Railway ongoing initiative, Operation Matrishakti

A distress message was received about a pregnant woman experiencing labor pain at the Foot Over Bridge (FOB) between Platforms 1 and 2 of Rampurhat station. Without delay, railway officials and staff rushed to the location, securing the area with the assistance of local women passengers. Within moments, the woman gave birth to a healthy baby boy.

Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the railway team provided immediate medical aid to both the mother and the newborn. Arrangements were swiftly made, and they were safely transported to Sadar Hospital, Rampurhat, where they were admitted for further care.

The woman was later identified as Hopon Mai Marandi (32 years), wife of Pradeep Hansda, a resident of Nanu Bazar, Vurkul, Sainthia, Birbhum, West Bengal.

This timely and compassionate intervention once again highlights Eastern Railway dedication to ensuring passenger safety and well-being.
