Management of Holi Festive Rush by Delhi Division, Northern Railway

1. Division has created Mini Control at 6 stations across its jurisdiction. These stations are New Delhi, Delhi, Nizamuddin, Anand Vihar, Ghaziabad and Panipat.

2. Special Duty Officers (SDOs) have been deployed besides the existing paraphernalia to monitor the train operations and crowd control and to cordinate with Mini Control.

3. Special Holding Areas have been created at NDLS and ANVT to serve as a cushion during the surge in crowd.

4. Ticket Booking Counters have been shifted in Holding Areas to improve passenger experience.

5. Ticketless travelers are no longer allowed inside these station. Only those passengers are allowed inside station who have valid tickets.

6. MOBILE Ticketing and AUTOMATIC TICKET VENDING MACHINES have been deployed in ample numbers to cater to high demand.

7. Special uniforms have been provided to Commercial Ticket checking staff (TTES) so that they can be easily identified and help in seamless ticket checking.

8. Walkie Talkies have been provided to commercial and RPF staff for better coordination with Mini Control.

9. Special arrangements have been made to board passengers in special trains. For example, Platform 16 has been earmarked for running Holi Special Trains. Besides this, certain trains with high occupancy have been shifted to Platform 16 at NDLS.

10. Regular reserved and unreserved Holi Special trains have been planned from all major stations of Delhi Division. As on 09.03.2025, A total of 14 Holi Special Trains were run from Delhi Division (5 from NDLS, 6 from ANVT, 2 from DLI and 1 from DEE)

11. To ensure seamless boarding of passengers onto the trains, a queue dividers (serpentine form) have been prepared to ensure that no untoward incident takes place.

12. Special Teams have been deployed to ensure that reserved ticket passengers are able to board their coaches smoothly and no underserved or waitlisted passengers are able to enter into reserved coaches. For this a special ticket checking squad has been deployed at New Delhi and ANVT stations.

13. Adequate deployment of RPF has been made on all FOBs to ensure smooth flow of crowd.

14. Certain changes have been made at Ajmeri Gate Side keeping in mind the Holi rush:

a. Entry to Platforms 1-15 are through FOB3 (Gate 8), FOB2 (Gate) and FOB1. The entry to Platforms 1-15 are no longer possible through Gate 10 (Platform 16)

b. Reserved Passengers bound for PF 16 are to enter through Gate 10 whereas unreserved passengers bound for PF16 are to enter through Gate 12.
