Head over meals with life

RIHAN ANSARI (9927141966)

Bhavi Dhillon Sehgal Food enthusiast Poet Blogger "She's a dreamer, a doer, a thinker. She sees a possibility everywhere" Born in Delhi and brought up in Noida and Ludhiana, to liberal and supportive parents, I have always been allowed to dream. To follow my heart. To fulfil my passions. As a kid, I enjoyed cooking, travelling, reading, exploring new things and ideas. I still love doing all of it now. After finishing off my academics, I landed in a financial firm for my first job wherein I worked for 2 years, before finally getting married to a Punjabi munda and shifting to Delhi to kickoff my marital journey. A year long vacation, enjoying all the attention and love, I decided to get back to job again. But God had other plans! I got pregnant with my first child and my priorities changed - from a working lady to a full-time mommy. In my free time, I usually love to scribble - express my thoughts, feelings, moods - but it would be a very private affair. In the past one year, I have seen myself growing into a woman with the zeal to do things and live life to the fullest. Food, which has always been my passion, took me to places - I joined several food groups, met wonderful people, learnt and still learning a lot from experts. This encouraged me to write about food and places I tried out. People were kind enough to show so much love to my work that I regained the confidence and enthusiasm to write more not just about food but other subjects as well. However like most people, my life to came to a halt with lockdown. I, known to all as someone who loves hanging out, partying and making friends, is now suddenly confined to indoors. As days went by, I decided to do something that would make me genuinely happy and feel productive. The lockdown period brought out the cook, writer, and poet in me. I experimented with a lot of recipes and actively started penning down my emotions and thoughts into poetry and even came up with my YouTube channel for readers to listen to my recitals. Being a part of the food industry, I couldn't ignore the huge losses and struggles everyone is going through. With my writings, I tried to motivate the professionals by highlighting their amazing work and how they are preparing to bounce back, abiding by the health and safety guidelines for a smooth dining experience. One moment during this period I cherish is when my waffle recipe got featured by a reputed media portal on Mother's Day. I was on cloud nine, honestly! My journey so far has seen ups and downs but I've people to thank to for their active support, love and inspiration all the while. My partner, kids, parents, sister, dear friend Pritisha and my critic friend Mandy who is my confider too - they stand by me like a pillar, no matter what, and make me realise my strength and capabilities. I'm grateful to have them in my life. Today, I would love to share one of my poetries that I wrote. It is a reflection of myself - the person I feel that I am and proud of. I'm a dreamer I'll dream high each day, I'm a fighter I'll fight right each day, I'm a motivator I'll motivate myself each day, I'm a killer I'll kill the bad in me each day, I'm a pacifier I'll pacify myself each day, I'm a worker I'll work hard each day, I'm a lover I'll love myself each day, Till the end..✡🦋An initiative by Protima Sharma for 'Made In India ' products by women.
