Central Railway acts tough against persons travelling on fake tickets

CR Ticket Examiner identifies 3 fake UTS generated tickets in AC local

Central Railway Ticket Examiner,Prashant Kamble detected 3 passengers travelling with fake UTS generated Season Tickets in AC local on 28.11.2025.

This is yet another case of passengers identified travelling with fake tickets after a couple of similar incidents a few days ago.

Prashant Kamble , Travelling Ticket Inspector, Mumbai Division, along with other Ticket checking staff and on duty RPF personnel, during a routine check in the 18.45 Parel-Kalyan AC local encountered 3 passengers, 1 young lady and 2 young men who produced UTS generated season tickets.

The tickets shown were opened in the ?My Files-Documents? folder of the mobile phone. The Ticket examiner grew suspicious when he asked the tickets to be opened & shown through UTS app but they failed to open.

On close scrutiny of all 3 UTS season tickets, it was found that all 3 had the same UTS no -XOOJHN4569 (each UTS generated ticket always has a separate number), but other details were different. He immediately sought confirmation and sent the mobile numbers of all 3 passengers for verification which confirmed that no tickets had been issued through these numbers further confirming that the UTS tickets produced were fake.

The passengers identified as Niraj Talreja,Atharv Baag and Aditi Manglurkar were handed over to the Government Railway Police/Kurla for necessary action.

Subsequent investigation revealed that the fraudulent season tickets had been generated by AI. An FIR has been registered against the 3 individuals under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act 2023(BNS) Sections 318/2, 336/3, 336/4, 340(1), 340(2) and 3/5 for engaging in fraudulent ticketing practices.

Prashant Kamble alertness and sharp thinking has unravelled yet another fake ticketing racket which is under investigation. His dedication towards duty has set an example for others to follow.

Central Railway appeals to passengers to please travel with valid tickets issued by authorised vendors or from railway station booking counters or through ATVM.

Passengers can also download the UTS app on their mobile phones and book tickets through Mobile UTS app.

Central Railway is taking a tough stand against persons generating / travelling on fake tickets. Passengers are warned against using fraudulent means to generate / obtain fake tickets and travel on the same. The Offence is punishable under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act 2023 with fine and imprisonment upto 7 years or both.
