NFR Promotes Preventive Healthcare Through ORS Day, BLS Training & Breastfeeding Week

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has made significant strides in enhancing healthcare services across its network of hospitals, reflecting its strong commitment to the health and well-being of its employees, their families and the general public. NFR has invested immensely in modernizing hospital facilities towards equipping them with advanced diagnostic tools, OT?s and Intensive Care Units (ICUs). Such efforts have been pivotal in ensuring timely and accurate diagnoses improving patient treatments at its hospitals.

Central Hospital Maligaon under Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) organized a series of health awareness initiatives last week, including Oral Rehydration Solution ORS Day, Basic Life Support (BLS) training and the launch of Breastfeeding Week celebrations. ORS Day was observed with the theme ?Simple solution for a healthier future ? sip smart, stay strong, say Yes to ORS.? Nursing students presented a street play highlighting the importance of ORS in preventing dehydration.

A BLS training session was also conducted in collaboration with the Indian Academy of Paediatrics and CPR eSanjeevani, where 20 nurses were trained in life-saving techniques to enhance emergency response. The hospital also marked the beginning of World Breastfeeding Week with the theme ?Invest in Breastfeeding, invest in the future,? through awareness talks and sessions promoting the benefits of breastfeeding.

Together, these initiatives reflect NFR?s broader vision of fostering a healthier future by combining preventive care, continuous professional training and active community engagement. Central Hospital Maligaon, through its sustained contributions, continues to play a vital role in supporting national health missions and setting benchmarks in quality healthcare and public health advocacy across the railway zone.
