NFR reports impressive Freight Loading

Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is tirelessly working round the clock to serve its customers and ensure the prompt delivery of essential commodities to end users. Demonstrating steady progress in freight transportation, NFR recorded 10.681 million tonnes (MT) of freight loading across various commodities in last financial year. During the month of April, 2025, the zone successfully loaded 0.895 million tonnes (MT), reflecting a 6.0% increase compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year.

In April 2025, several commodities recorded significant growth in freight loading compared to the same period last year. Cement loading recorded a 6.9% increase, while dolomite loading rose by 6.8%, Fertilizer loading grew by 91.7%, POL increased by 31.8% and others loading recorded a hike with 39.9%. Additionally, in other segments, stone chips registered a 70% and loading of miscellaneous items recorded a notable rise of 206.7% as compared to the previous fiscal year.

The consistent growth in freight loading reflects the rising economic activity in the region. This upward trend has not only strengthened the region?s economic landscape but also contributed significantly to NFRs revenue.
