Northern Railways Achieves Remarkable Financial and Operational Milestones in FY 2024-25

Ashok Kumar Verma, General Manager Northern Railway announced that Northern Railways has made significant strides in financial prudence, operational efficiency, and workforce development in the financial year 2024-25. The capital expenditure utilization has reached 100%, and revenue expenditure savings have successfully registered compared to the previous year. Notably, Rs 98.88 Crores were recovered from various government departments, while Rs 71.76 Crores outstanding payments against stations were cleared.

The GM informed that the financial scrutiny and internal checks resulted in savings of approximately Rs 147.58 Crores and recoverable bills worth Rs 878.50 Crores were successfully cleared. Leave Applications of 1,15,793 employees have been vetted through the Human Resource Management System(HRMS), while pre-checking of service records for retirements between 2024-2030 ensured timely settlements for 9,784 out of 12,169 cases. NR also organized an orientation program for 250 newly recruited Junior Accounts Assistants and Accounts Clerks at the National Rail Museum. Various sessions on Income Tax, D&AR, and legal matters were conducted, along with a specialized workshop on budgeting at NR headquarters. Northern Railway has also successfully launched the TIAs e-Bulletin, with its second edition released in December 2024, highlighting the functioning of Jan Sadharan Ticket Booking Seva (JTBS).
