Scaler School of Technology launches UG program in AI and Business to educate youth

India's higher education system has taken an additional step towards progress by beginning offering an AI + Business UG program from Scaler School of Technology. This is a 4-year fully on-campus UG program that combines a unique blend of AI skillsets, product building, entrepreneurship through technical skills and business thinking to prepare students for today's innovative driven economy whereby technology and commercial strategy are interlinked like never before.

Anshuman Singh, who is a former engineering leader at Facebook Messenger provided some insight into why this program is being offered, as he pointed out that AI has enabled faster development cycles as well as lowered the barriers to entry for those who want to create new products. "You can now create functioning products (example $1000 laptops) in weeks instead of months, allowing young builders to create above and beyond their imagination." In addition, Anshuman added, "You need to have an understanding of system design, user needs, and business sustainability in today's market to be successful" which is a focus of this program through the application of real-world experiences.

The program is designed to provide a step by step, practical learning experience. During the first year, students will develop a solid foundation in programming, applied mathematics for AI, economics, and communications through hands-on projects. The second year will introduce students to production systems, AI models, and the fundamentals of marketing. By the third year, students will work on real-world problems as part of the Scaler Innovation Lab, gaining exposure to product strategy, growth planning, and operational challenges. Lastly, in the final year, students will enter Founder Modeand will be required to create and advance their own AI-powered startup as part of their academic evaluation.

The academic structure is further supported by strong industry mentorships, funding resources, and placement opportunities. Students are able to engage with industry experts and innovators. Previous cohorts of students have received innovation grants from Samsung and have been placed into internships at companies such as Apple, demonstrating initial success. There is a limited intake for admissions and a holistic approach to admissions, ensuring that the graduates are equipped with the necessary skills and entrepreneurial vision to succeed.
