EASTERN RAILWAY'S MEDICAL DEPARTMENT RECORDS OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE IN JANUARY 2025

The Medical Department of Eastern Railway has showcased exceptional performance in delivering quality healthcare services across its various units during the month of January 2025. The latest report reflects remarkable achievements in Outpatient Department (OPD) attendance, in-patient care, and specialized surgeries, reaffirming Eastern Railway?s dedication to the well-being of its employees and their families.

Key Highlights of Medical Services (January 2025) provided by Eastern Railway

OPD Attendance

A total of 1,03,704 patients were attended to across all railway hospitals and health units.

B. R. Singh Hospital led with 35,783 patients, followed by Howrah (18,726) and Kanchrapara (12,037).

In-door Admissions

A total of 3,437 patients were admitted for treatment, ensuring critical medical care and attention. B. R. Singh Hospital recorded the highest admissions at 1,362, followed by Asansol (625) and Kanchrapara (419).

Surgeries Performed

Special Surgeries: 56 procedures were conducted, with B. R. Singh Hospital performing the highest number (34).

Major Surgeries: 592 major surgeries were performed across units, with B. R. Singh Hospital leading with 435 surgeries.

Cardiac Procedures

Coronary Angiography: 65 procedures conducted.

Angioplasty: 08 life-saving interventions performed.

Cardiac-Bypass Surgery: 12 procedures successfully executed.

Pacemaker Implantation 16 patients benefited from pacemaker installations.
