EASTERN RAILWAY FELICITATED LADY EMPLOYEES AS A PART OF OBSERVANCE OF INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

Eastern Railway felicitated selected band of lady employees of different divisions, workshops as well as Headquarters offices of Eastern railway as a part of observance of International Women Day celebration. The award giving ceremony was held at the auditorium of Eastern Railway Headquarters, Fairlie Place today wherein, the ceremonial lamp was lit by Milind Deouskar, General Manager/ Eastern Railway in presence of Sumit Sarkar, Additional General Manager, Zarina Firdausi, Principal Chief Personnel Officer and other Principal Officers of Eastern Railway.Zarina Firdausi, Principal Chief Personnel Officer delivered the Welcome Address. Seema Deouskar, President of the Eastern Railway Women Welfare Organization (ERWWO) was also present and spoke on the occasion highlighting the ongoing process of women empowerment.Milind Deouskar, General Manager handed over the awards and certificates to 33 lady employees for their outstanding performance.Speaking on the occasion,Milind Deouskar, General Manager/Eastern Railway said that the lady employees are the pivotal part of this Railway who have already proved their skill in performing any task meticulously, be it the indoor work or the outdoor work including safety related. General Manager further reaffirmed Eastern Railway commitment in providing a supportive and inclusive environment that empowers women to excel in their careers and contribute to their growth and development.Eastern Railway by creating different facilities and amenities trying to improve the convenience of the lady employees in performing their day-to-day work so that they can deliver even better in serving the Railways in particular and the nation in general.A competition in three categories viz bridal makeup, drawing & painting and cooking also been organised today on this occasion.
