EASTERN RAILWAY ELABORATE ARRANGEMENTS FOR HASSLE FREE JOURNEY BY HOLI SPECIAL TRAINS

Eastern Railway has already planned to run 18 Holi special trains in different directions. A total of 86 trips will ply including both Up and Down directions. Among these 4 trips will run between Sealdah & New Jalpaigri, 2 trips between Malda Town & Charlapalli, 18 trips between Howrah & Anand Vihar Terminal, 4 trips between Malda Town & Udhna, 6 trips between Kolkata & Puri, 2 trips between Malda Town & Pune, 2 trips between Malda Town & Anand Vihar Terminal, 4 trips between Malda Town & Delhi, 6 trips between Howrah & Raxaul, 6 trips between Sealdah & Gorakhpur, 2 trips between Kolkata & Patna, 2 trips between Kolkata & Jaynagar, 4 trips between Howrah & Khatipura, 4 trips between Howrah & New Jalpaiguri 6 trips between Kolkata &Lalkuan and 14 trips between Kolkata & Kanpur Central. The services of these Holi special trains have been started from 06.03.2025 to end of March 2025. In this span it is expected that people from different areas will avail Eastern Railway?s Holi special trains to return to their homes and enjoy the festive season and after enjoying the Holi festival, Eastern Railway is also facilitating return to their respective workplaces by boarding those Holi special trains.

During the Holi season, Eastern Railway has planned for an extensive arrangement for the comfort of hassle free journey of the passengers. Accordingly, all the Divisions of Eastern Railway viz. Howrah, Sealdah, Asansol & Malda have been sensitized to make all possible arrangements for crowd management, stepped up security and enhanced amenities for the passengers during Holi/Dol Jatra festival which are as follows:

  • Creation of holding area for segregated and systematic flow of Unreserved passengers to station.
  • Limiting the number of passengers entering the station premises according to holding area. Staff of Commercial Department, RPF & other field staff will take action to regulate for reducing overcrowding if any.
  • Monitoring teams of Officers and Sr. Supervisors at station and Divisional control rooms will keep close observation.
  • Maintaining proper queue system for crowd control of Unreserved passengers at stations by RPF and Commercial Department during boarding in trains.
  • Crowd management on Foot Over Bridges.
  • Availability of adequate train indication boards, coach indication board, digital clock and announcement system at important stations.
  • System of monitoring the number of tickets issued through UTS and platform tickets.
  • CCTV to capture platform wise condition of rush 24x7 monitoring.

Moreover, emphasis has been given on cleanliness, availability of drinking water at different stations etc. Passengers are also requested to maintain proper queue at railway stations avoiding unnecessary rush movement and also to maintain cleanliness at station premises and in train compartments.
