To curb ticketless travel and ensure strict adherence to railway regulations, the Howrah Division of Eastern Railway conducted a Special Ticket Checking Drive at Bally (BLY) Station on 29th January 2025. The intensive drive was carried out under the supervision of Principal Chief Commercial Manager (PCCM) Dr. Uday Shankar Jha with team of commercial officers and commercial staffs.

During the operation, 756 passengers were found traveling without valid tickets and were penalized as per railway rules. This initiative is part of Eastern Railway?s continuous efforts to protect revenue and encourage responsible travel among passengers.

Eastern Railway strongly advises all passengers to purchase tickets before boarding trains to avoid penalties and ensure a hassle-free journey. Tickets can be purchased through multiple convenient modes, including:

Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) Counters at railway stations.

Online booking via the UTS Mobile App, which allows passengers to buy paperless tickets easily.

Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs), available at many stations for quick and contactless ticket purchases.

Eastern Railway remains committed to maintaining discipline and fairness in travel and will continue conducting similar special drives in the future. Passengers are encouraged to cooperate and contribute to a more efficient and transparent railway system.
