Central Railway earns Rs. 183.80 crore from Parcel carriage upto November in Financial Year 2025-26

Registers growth of 37% over last FY

Central Railway ran 143 trips of time-tabled Parcel Trains, Lease & Indent Parcel Cargo Express Trains in FY 2025-26 (Upto November-2025).

Central Railway earned a revenue of Rs.183.80 crores by way of transportation of Parcel & Luggage during Financial Year 2025-26 (April to November-2025) as against revenue of Rs.133.70 crores earned during last year, a growth of more than 37%.

Mumbai Division leads the share of Parcel revenue with earnings of Rs.136.20 crores during FY-2025-26 as against Rs.95.20 crores earned during last FY, indicating a growth of more than 43%.

Bhusaval Division has shown a sharp increase of 93% in Parcel revenue with a leap of Rs.17.20 crores in FY-2025-26 from a modest 8.90 crores during FY-2024-25.

Parcel Revenue from other Divisions include Rs. 20.20 crores from Pune division, Rs.7.60 crores from Nagpur division & Rs.2.60 crores from Solapur division.

Special Highlights

Central Railway introduced the Shetkari Samruddhi Special train in October-2024 from Devlali (Maharashtra) to Danapur (Bihar) to enhance the convenience of farmers, in affordable transportation of perishable goods to new markets in Bihar. These trains feature parcel vans for transportation of fresh produce boosting agricultural logistics and rural economy.

A total of 63 trips of the Shetkari Samruddhi Special trains have been run till date transporting over 9044 tonnes of parcel, earning a revenue of Rs.3.24 crores.

In line with Government vision to give economical, direct market access to the farmers, Central Railway has achieved a significant milestone with the commencement of direct transportation of a new commodity, viz. Silk Cocoons, from Solapur & Pandharpur (Maharashtra) to Asia?s largest silk cocoon market, Ramanagaram (Karnataka), in November 2025.This was a first of its kind initiative and till date a total of 14939 kgs of silk cocoons have been transported in 535 packages by Central Railway

The increase in parcel revenue is attributed to the various initiatives taken by Central Railway for intensive marketing and other similar innovative ideas to boost parcel transportation.
